近日探險家 John Hart，公開發表了一種在2007年剛果發現的新靈長類物種，名為 lesula。雖然當地的居民早有接觸過 lesula，但卻從未被外界記載過。
今時今日在非洲還能找到新的靈長類物種是很難得的，對上一次的新發現巳是28年前的kipunji了，可惜該物種發現沒多久就被定為極度瀕危。
希望 lesula 不會有相同的命運吧！
lesula, the newly founded species in central Democratic Republic of Congo, was discovered by conservation biologist John Hart in 2007. lesula is a medium size monkey with blond fur, believed to a close relative to owl-faced monkey. it is not common to discover a new species african monkey; the last time was 28 years ago, a species named kipunji, which is already critically endangered.
