The Formosan Clouded Leopard, a Clouded-Leopard subspecies native to Taiwan, is now extinct. Overwhelming urbanization activities and illegal hunting were thought to be blamed.
Taiwanese and American Zoologists had been searching for the animal for 13 years, they had even set up over a thousand infra-red cameras and hundreds of scent traps to track down the animal in the Taiwanese mountains, but the efforts were futile. It’s been recently declared extinct.

&dear made a paper clouded leopard last year, and it’s saddening to learn that its beautiful subspecies no longer exist. We should take this as a lesson and learn to cherish things before they are long gone.
