很多人都明白養寵物的好處,而最近美國更有研究指出,原來養寵物,特別是狗狗,飼養者的心臟通常都比較健康。雖然該研究並沒有直接證明養寵物可減少心臟疾病發生的機會,也可能只是因為健康的人比較喜愛養寵物。
但該研究團隊的領導表示:「只要你是一心養寵物並為牠們制造一個充滿愛的家,同樣地人們能夠從彼此的關係中感到快樂,也將會更照顧自己。」所以並不是說買了一隻寵物你就能活得長久,而是透過愛護寵物令自己更愛惜自己。

Many know the benefits of keeping a pet, but recent research in the US had suggested that, keeping a pet, especially a dog, have an addition benefit of a healthier heart. It is yet to be proven that keeping a pet reduces the chances of having heart diseases, this correlation could well be due to the fact that most healthy people do keep pets. “When you are providing a loving atmosphere when keeping a pet, people themselves could benefit from the mere happiness and joy in that very relationship, therefore taking better care of themselves and hence healthier.” said one of the lead researchers. Keeping a pet alone doesn’t grant you a long and healthy life, it’s the process of doing so that teaches us how to take better care of others, and ourselves.
