crabs are naturally talented to “play-dead” when there are predators, but many are losing this behavior after living in shores with ship noises! study found that crabs that live in a noisy environment could make them forget to “play-dead” and slower their retreat speed; it would end up with less effective feeding as it takes them more time for foraging . all of these would affect the crabs’ growth and survival, as well as their populations and the whole ecosystems!
