there are six subspecies of island foxes living on Channel Islands of California. due to human activities and predation by the golden eagle, these these island were listed as some of the most endangered in 2004. but after conservationists relocated the golden eagles and controlling the overpopulated goats and pigs, two of the subspecies of island foxes are now out of the endangered list!
