chinese sturgeons

chinese sturgeons have existed on earth for over 140 million years, but they might become history soon. even though they are listed as a chinese “national treasure”, their home, Yangtze river, is not being protected. pollution, boat traffic, overfishing and dams building are putting this endangered species in great danger; they no longer reproduce. in 2013, for the first time since researchers began keeping records, there was no natural reproduction of wild chinese sturgeon in the area.
