the devils hole pupfish is an inch-long blue fish that are found only in Devils Hole, a limestone cavern in Nevada, USA. these little pupfish are used to living in oxygen-poor and super-warm water that is around 33 degree celsius. however, global warming has brought the water temperature and brings the oxygen level down, and with the decline in food the pupfish population has been struggling. there used to be over 500 devils hole pupfish in 1972, but the recent fish count was only 92. for all the years scientists has been trying save these pupfish by raising them in captivity but they eventually failed.
