wood bison restoring

wood bisons are native to south-central alaska and canada. however, by 1900s all bisons had disappeared from alaska due to human hunting. in 2008, US imported 53 wood bison from canada, and released around 100 of them back to alaska, hoping to go back in time to make the wrong right. they would be watching the bison for a while after the restoration to make sure they will do fine in the wild.
