印尼森林大火自八月尾便一直蔓延，是二十多年來最嚴重的山火。全球1/3的紅毛猩猩及其他瀕危動物如大象、老虎等，都居於受影響地區。除林木、植物被燒毀外，大量濃煙及灰塵亦對野生動物和人類造成問題。
