saola was first discovered in 1992, and it’s also known as the asian unicorn because of its rarity and elusiveness. scientists are building a conservation centre hoping to captive breed this critically endangered animal. the most recent record was in 2013 where a camera trap got a photo of a wild saola. finding a saola is extremely hard, but to catch a pair for breeding and keeping them alive would be even harder.
